Administration

Mr. Buono is a New York State certified administrator with 21 years of leadership experience. Throughout his career, he has facilitated numerous district-level committees, including District & Building Safety Committee, Textbook Adoption, and Professional Development. Notably, he developed a streamlined data collection system that serves as the blueprint for the district’s current MTSS model (Branching Minds), ensuring consistent practices and scalable interventions.

As a veteran educator, Mr. Buono has taught a broad range of sciences, including biology, chemistry, forensic science, microbiology, and physics, and has coached 25 seasons of athletics. His commitment to the community spans over two decades; he has coached and officiated various youth programs and founded the Onteora United Soccer Club, which has grown to include three travel teams. Guided by a student-centered philosophy, he strives to foster supportive environments where children can develop skills and build community.
